About Dr Anita Weerakoon
I am a Consultant Rheumatologist with expertise in management of a wide spectrum of rheumatological conditions to relieve pain, stiffness and swelling in joints and muscles and advice on bone health. I am passionate about working together with my patients to help them regain ability to meet and overcome the challenges posed by their rheumatological diseases and live life to the fullest.
Training in general medicine and specialty training in rheumatology and treating patients with rheumatic diseases for more than 20 years has provided me with a broad understanding of the patient perspective of their illness. My learning and experience has provided me with the necessary and expert professional and personal skills to understand the patient perspective and provide an individualised management plan to each patient who chooses to work together with me to manage their diseases.
